J-Rod at 14! Congratulations!

A great piece of moviegoing advice I got was to see this film at a matinee. That way, when I left the theater all depressed and suicidal, I'd see the Sun. And at least there'd be that to possibly keep me going.

I'm a teacher, and I listened to it. I can tell you that any coworker of mine whom I learned did something like this would forever be on the receiving end of my rage. Completely antithetical to why we do what we do.

Yeah, I was going for ironic humor, but I missed. My bad.

My conspiracy theory:

If the baseball gods want to fix the game, they can do it by fixing TV revenue.

We'll never know until a single team dares to open its books to scrutiny.

Not yet, it's not. Once the lockout comes and we see a two-flank attack from the fans and the billionaire owners both decrying "competitive imbalance" we'll be closer.

Maybe that's the owners' endgame:

* Dodgers keep buying, pissing off non-Dodgers fans;
* 29 other billionaire owners sit quietly and wait;
* Lockout comes, public decrees "unfair" game;
* Owners wait out union, push through cap;
* All billionaire owners happier with cap

I am generally not a proponent of people having to defend their vote, but in this case I need to hear this fellow explain his position.
