When I saw him last, more than 15 years ago, he mentioned he had a framed picture of me and several classmates at his house on the couch. One was holding Citizen and Socialist upside down. Nora took the picture. I still remember posing for it.

The last class I took with him was African American Labor History 1910-present. It primarily focused on the Great Migration and the Black church. He did at least one lecture on Rev. Franklin.

Professor Salvatore died recently. He was my favorite professor at Cornell. I had him for my 1st labor history class & 2 classes on African American labor history. He was either researching or thinking about this book in 1995 when I last took a class with him.
