Prince Paul does a rock opera.

1999 was a royal pain in the ass, but I was still too young and full of energy to appreciate it until the end of the year. This album played a big part in distracting me from how poorly run the company I worked for was.

Purchased on the back of a review by "Rock Expert David Stubbs 🎶". It's great. Singularly great to the point of me feeling like I didn't really need anything else from The Afghan Whigs. But then again, neither did Greg Dulli for a while.

Wrong episode title in the alt text - "Pitiful! Mother of Love and Banishment!?" is the correct episode. The one I referenced was a month later and about Ryuunsuke's mother. There was a run on mum episodes around this point.

I came onboard with "Sister Havana" and the Butcher Bros. production era, so this was a back catalogue dive.

Of the pre-Saturation albums, this feels closest to where they ended up, but Albini's not the guy to get it realised fully.
