have been desperately looking for this old erotic Spanish comic I stumbled on almost 10 years ago called "El secreto de Frankenstein" and I'm so happy to report I finally found it

a black and white typography edit that reads "i am gay and i must create". around the text are many arts and crafts supplies such as a glue gun, spools of thread, scissors, a linocut carver, tunes of paint, crayons, buttons, pins, a ball of yarn, paint brushes, pens, and pencils, and other things of that nature. the entire image is textured to look photocopied.

I started 2024 with huge amounts of fear and self doubt and slowly learned that I deserve to be kind to myself (thanks, therapy).

I love seeing queer artists draw bodies. Queer attraction and beauty has such range to it, and I love seeing body types and parts that we've been told are ugly drawn with such care. I love getting to see the body from so many different perspectives

for me this print represents fighting against something a lot more powerful and bigger than yourself and winning despite that, and I find the medieval symbolism fitting - otherwise I too would be rooting for a dragon more than a knight!

A wood panel that has been treated with a mixture of armenian bole and fish glue. It appears red. The substance is now dry and I carved the outline of the painting into it.

The same panel but now fully covered in gold. The gold now appears fully stuck to the panel as it had bren burnished and smoothed out (to the best of my ability - there are visible imperfections in the gold).

Gilded using the water gilding method - I bought a wood board that had already been treated with gesso (a plaster like substance), I then covered it with armenian bole & fish glue (red stuff!), applied fake gold, which I then burnished with an agate stick after it dried.

got the second print run of my trans angel riso print back from the printers a few weeks back! It’s inspired by portugese tiles, and I cleaned up the yellow a bit more to make it warmer and brighter 💛
