Last week, VP Vance came to Toledo claiming “record” job growth. Here’s the reality: families face higher costs, tariffs are costing manufacturing jobs, and over $200M in approved federal infrastructure and manufacturing investments here were cut by this Administration. Ohio deserves better.

In NW Ohio and across the country, MILLIONS of families are opening bills where health insurance coverage costs more than their mortgage payment. Middle-class workers wages crawl while premiums triple. This is a cruel choice by the GOP to give Billionaires tax breaks while working Americans suffer.

As winter weather conditions take hold across NW Ohio region and much of the nation—please stay warm, stay off the roads if possible, and beware of hazardous conditions. Today, VP Vance traveled to Toledo, Ohio to talk about the Trump Administration's efforts to grow jobs and return manufacturing to our region. Well, this came as quite a surprise to me, because of decisions by his Administration to rip away $150 Million of investment across NW Ohio.

We fought to extend the ACA credits so people wouldn't die. We were successful, and there is a bill that'll solve the problem for the country. It sits in the Senate—and guess what? They're sitting on it. For the American people listening, one thing you can do to dislodge this bill—call your Senator.

Earlier this week, alongside hundreds of Ohioans, our community celebrated the life and works a Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King with Macedonia Baptist Church in Toledo and its rousing choir. We also welcomed the NAACP's Reverend Dr. Wendell Anthony, who spoke eloquently of Dr. King's living legacy.

Transportation and infrastructure is not an abstract concept for our manufacturing and agricultural communities.

Military threats on NATO allies and tariffs that raise prices on hard working Americans and NW Ohio manufacturers have to stop. We need a united front and new sanctions against Russia — not mob extortion tactics against our friends to seize their land!
