I take writing erotica seriously as an art, and there's nothing more disheartening than posting a spicy story and getting these bloodless bot replies with their fake "deep analyses" calculated to wring engagement out of an artist desperate for attention

the problem, as i see it, is not that censoring erotic content is a slippery slope to censoring LGBTQ+ culture. it's that censoring erotic content IS censoring LGBTQ+ culture.

Actually call them the fuck out, they are violating their own business ToS by restricting purchases of LGBTQ+ content when they themselves list that that type of discrimination goes against their ToS.

No lie, this calling campaign is one of the most effective levers we have at the moment.

This is a small-potatoes argument but I think it's true for a lot of other artists-- drawing erotica and getting to share it with you is an incredibly fulfilling part of my life as an artist and person and having that taken away would leave me with a void in my heart so vast it's hard to think about

Gonna take this one step further and say if you draw adult content and don't support sex workers you should stop drawing adult content.

If you are working with/accommodating someone's sexual fantasies with intent to arouse, you ARE a sex worker. Period. End of discussion.

This statement tells me a few things:

1) They are scared. You don't acknowledge something like the current movement unless you have to.

2) Whomever wrote this and approved it is disconnected from whomever made the initial decision. Wild misalignment here.

3) They are lying. Outright.

Protest movements that stop as soon as they start seeing results fail.

Protest movements that keep going until your whole squad is across the finish line win.
