Instead of having a national debate on whether we should strip benefits from those not in work, I propose we debate whether we should strip citizenship from those who don't pay their taxes 👀

Que los jueces necesitáis formación en violencias machistas lo mandatan las leyes y lo dice la ONU: “los estereotipos pueden hacer que los jueces interpreten erróneamente las leyes o las apliquen de forma defectuosa”

‘It’s not drought - it’s looting’: the Spanish villages where people are forced to buy back their own drinking water Spain is increasingly either parched or flooded – and one group is profiting from these extremes: the water-grabbing multinational companies forcing angry citizens to pay for it in bottles

Water, energy, rail and Royal Mail should all be run by the state, voters say A poll shows a majority of voters believe key services including energy and water should be run by the state amid growing anger over sky-high bills and sewage pollution

Labour’s parliamentary majority is built on sand and, without bringing about major change to our country’s rigged system, they face a wipeout at the next election.

They must listen to the country’s majority and bring water, energy, rail and mail into public hands.

Do you remember these same people’s reaction any time a Labour shadow minister supported a junior doctors’ picket?

“When WE do it, it’s patriotic…”

Green capitalism is dead.

The cost of living crisis allowed fossil fuel companies and petrostates to flip the narrative.

They’ve successfully exploited a crisis caused by our dependence on fossil fuels to claim that fossil fuels will always be a major and essential part of our energy supply.

Refusing to Learn Lessons Rachel Reeves has pledged to deregulate the financial sector, arguing there is too much focus on ‘risk’ and not enough on ‘growth’. For working people, it’s a recipe for disaster.

Reeves’ refusal to face up to economic reality makes her look like a political ostrich.

She is refusing to acknowledge and prepare for all the risks to global growth and financial stability.

Instead, she is implementing a new round of financial deregulation.

My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Morning.
