I know I’ve said every game against the Islanders is the same, but I can say the same about the Bruins. They clog everything up and get elite goaltending every time the Penguins play them.

Is It Worth It To Move Stuart Skinner Before Friday's NHL Trade Deadline? Stuart Skinner is out there in trade talks, but does it make sense to move him?

Stuart Skinner's name has popped up in trade rumors. He's a UFA at the end of the year. Is it worth moving him before Friday? I discuss that here: thehockeynews.com/nhl/pittsbur...

Was using this thumbnail cheap heat? Sure, but I can't help myself.

Anyway, Pens vs. Bruins preview, some lineup changes, and a discussion on if the Penguins could/should trade Skinner at the deadline.

Getting closer and closer to another potential Penguins-Islanders playoff series

That was a hell of a response by the Penguins after yesterday’s setback. Outside of the first few minutes, they controlled play and suffocated the Golden Knights. Special teams were once again dominant.

Overall, that’s now 5/6 points without Crosby. Another busy week looms.

Todd Nelson must have worked overtime during the break because the power play looks infinitely better right now. Cleaner zone entries, more of a shoot-first mentality, crisp puck movement, and a pure net-front presence.

Ben Kindel is that guy, man. That’s such a nasty release

Takeaways: Penguins Blow Two Goal Lead, Lose To Rangers In Shootout The Pittsburgh Penguins stumbled against the New York Rangers on Saturday afternoon, losing 3-2 in a shootout.

The Penguins let Saturday's game slip away. Here's my recap and some takeaways from the loss, including why it's time for Rakell to move back to the wing: thehockeynews.com/nhl/pittsbur...

Playoff chances after the Pens-Rangers afternoon game. Playoff chances will update on the website several times per day for the rest of the season moneypuck.com/predictions....

The bad numbers:

Pens have lost 16 of 18 shootouts.
Pens have lost 12 of last 13 shootouts.
Pens have lost 12 of last 13 road shootouts.
Pens have lost 9 straight road shootouts.
Pens have converted 7 of their last 33 SO shots.
Pens have converted 1 of last 22 road SO shots.

The Penguins will still be in second place heading into March. That is the good part. However, the final 30 minutes of regulation were unacceptable. You cannot get out-played by a team that has nothing to play for like that.

Did not care for the back half of that second period. When you have a team pinned down, you have to go for the kill shot. Can’t leave any room for error. Let’s see how they respond in the third

Said it on Friday’s show but the biggest key to beating Shesterkin is always on deflections and net-front traffic. That’s two so far.

At the moment, Rangers credited with 2 shots in the first period. That's fewest shots ever for NYR in the opening period of a regular season home GP v. Pens; only reg season home period ever for NYR with fewer shots v. Pens: third period on 3/4/10 (1).

That play from Ben Kindel was absolutely outrageous. Just went around everyone to set up that chance.

I will never understand goaltender interference. Just use the IIHF rule at this point. At least it’s clear

28.02.2026 17:55 β€” πŸ‘ 20    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Great zone entry followed by a great puck battle win along the boards. Hell of a deflection by Mantha, who continues to be a steal. Outstanding start.

I know there's a lot of fucked up shit going on, but I want you all to know: Skinner is set to start for the Penguins today. Girard is also good to go.

Anyway, third United States president in my life to start a Middle East war.

All three republicans. Kinda feels like something we as an electorate should learn and remember, but that’s probably not as fun as hot takes on discord or in the Twitch chat.

DADS DOWN DEVILS! That's right, the power of dad strength helped the Pens get a big two points against New Jersey. @hunterhodies.bsky.social and I recap the game, and get you ready for the weekend back-to-back.

The Penguins did get a little help in the standings. The Jackets lost in regulation and are now 7 points back.

However, the Islanders, who continue to be cockroaches, tied the game late before winning in OT.

27.02.2026 03:07 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That’s a really nice third period from the Penguins. Silovs bought them enough time to find their game and they made no mistake. Those are two big points in the standings.

The Penguins are also 11-1-5 against Metro teams this year.

Total beast mode stuff tonight from Kindel. From making Hischier look like a pylon in the first period to the last scoring chance, he’s been everywhere. That break is going to do him wonders for the stretch run.
