Today on International Women's Day I thought about my lost girlhood and womanhood in Baghdad. How my youth was wasted.
I'll turn 40 years old this year and I am left with the horrifying realisation that I've spent the past 40 years in Baghdad just trying to survive. I haven't actually lived at all.

They finally showed him some information. But not the fact that the majority of the country opposes him and this war and will tolerate ZERO sacrifices for either.

I dream for us that we are more than a breaking headline, more than shattered limbs and burning cities.

Everything is explainable once you accept the cruelty is the point. It's not about freeing anyone or making anyone's life better. It's not about strategy or policy or victory or patriotism. Just being as destructive as possible.
