I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.
Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.
Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.
If the Democrats approve the unprecedented DHS and ICE funding package (3x 2024’s already record budget!) based on these meaningless and, in any event, unenforceable “reforms,” it will be among the greatest moral betrayals and strategic failures of the modern era.
Great news, and much credit to CUNY FSJP and SJP for leading on this
“Hundreds of immigrant mothers” in Texas concentration camp uprising
Hundreds of people are walking towards the federal paramilitary who *just murdered a guy this morning* with their hands raised. The courage of people who live here is stunning.
CBP agents retreat to 26/Stevens then launch several flash bangs and teargas canisters in addition to shooting people with pepper bullets
Video before it happens is showing this guy they shot in the head in Minneapolis was just standing there videoing them before and they got out to push him back and then murder him.
Police, not ICE, arrested around 100 clergy *yesterday* for participating in peaceful resistance against ICE. If Minnesota has "had it" then MN Democrats should do something about it and quit criminalizing the people willing to put their actual bodies on the line to say they've had it!
Minneapolis rn 🧵
ICE shot a man 5 times outside Glam Doll Donuts in Minneapolis in what commentators are describing as “an execution.” www.reddit.com/r/Minneapoli...
Today's actions covered many bases:
1) Economic pressure through striking
2) A HUGE rally downtown
3) Civil disobedience at the airport
4) A direct confrontation at Whipple
5) Maintaining patrols/rapid response
All of this despite being the coldest day in SIX years - we've got this, Minnesota.
Another question I came here with was: how effective are the whistles and honking? Does it stop abductions? And the answer is, surprisingly to my cynical self, yes, and often. I have talked to so many people who have successfully interrupted kidnappings.
It’s hard to accurately describe what is happening in Minneapolis without sounding crazy.
Unmarked rental vans all over the city, with people in military gear and no id jumping out of them to take captive anyone who looks nonwhite or who makes political speech they disagree with.
Pretending things were fine before current regime will not cut it. These folks recycling training and professionalization discourse need to realize this has been deployed in ways that ultimately reproduce carceral state illiberalism and racialized police terror since at least the 1950s.
Not remotely legal. Minnesota needs to arrest these thugs breaking down doors right now, before they start grabbing even more power
From the nyc protest today
I think that a lot of respectable, middle-class white people are wondering if their local cops are going to stop ICE from doing to them what ICE did to Renee Nicole Good, and I would suggest to them that they have their answer here.
If I'm wrong, well, the FOP can explain why.
There’s a GoFundMe for Jonathan Ross’s legal expenses for murdering Renee Good.
This violates GoFundMe’s Terms of Service. Everyone must report it.
A thread on how to do that 🧵
Prison guards are flocking to ICE jobs and frankly this makes sense. Those of us who have been anti-prison organizers for decades have been saying that fascism already existed within prisons/jails. Our best teachers for how to survive fascism are incarcerated people.
Anyways, the goal appears to be to shift the window to "cops can kill anybody anytime" like how the DoD can just murder people on boats for any reason at any time. This is why it's important to understand why "criminal" is just not a fixed category. It can become so big to include everyone.
This guy is in Minneapolis standing before an American citizen in an SUV.
The only reason he's brandishing an assault rifle is because he wants the people he's purportedly there protecting to feel terrorized by his presence.
This is not protection. This is occupation.
yeah they’re just grabbing random people at bus stops there is absolutely no attempt to even give the pretense that this is about immigration anymore. it is absolutely just a military occupation
