There seems to be a bug in the newest version of the game where used ammunition just...ceases to exist? I've changed the settings to "forbid used ammunition" to see if that solves the issue.

Created yet another fortress, which is going well. My hunters are actually hunting, and I'm enjoying some of the features of the latest version of the game, such as the fact that it tells me the dimensions of what I'm mining out.
My only complaint is that I had to put the trade depot on the right.
That fortress hasn't gone anywhere since I realized it's completely flat, which means there's nowhere to dig into the mountain to create a straight route to an underground trade depot that the wagons can access.

But it finally got built, and I had my dwarves bring some items that were cluttering up the old trade depot to the new one to speed up the rebuilding process, along with some items to trade. So now I'm just waiting for the dwarven caravans to get to the depot so I can trade.

So I reverted to the early autumn autosave, deconstructed the depot, and tried to build a new one up on the surface.
No dice. It seems that dwarves prioritize things going on within the fortress to things going on above ground, so they just weren't building the new depot.
Well, this time, perhaps because rather than just one caravan that got trapped, it was all of them (seriously, there were 22 wagons when they finally got free), the humans started going berserk after the dwarves arrived, causing the dwarves to turn around and leave.
Clearly, this was unsat.
The rebuilding takes a bit because first they have to move everything that was in the trade depot outside the tiles it occupies, which is why I need to construct a temporary one elsewhere.

Somehow every single human caravan got stuck in my trade depot. Normally a caravan getting stuck in the depot isn't that big a deal, I'll just deconstruct the depot after the dwarves leave, then construct a new one temporarily in another location while waiting for it to be rebuilt.

I had a couple holdings pop up, so I designated a messenger in order to request workers from them. Except the messenger keeps starting the task of "request workers" only to immediately replace it with "store item in stockpile."

Then, you have to click on "Details" for each dwarf in the squad, and at the bottom click "Uniform worn over clothing" so that it's replaced by "Uniform replaces clothing." Which I did.
What I failed to do was then click "Confirm" at the top. So none of the changes I made actually took effect.
I may have figured out why my dwarves still weren't going to Individual Combat Drill.
In order to have the dwarves wear only armor and no clothing, you have to go to the squad screen by pressing [q], then select the squad and click on the option "Equip" down at the bottom.
So far, so intuitive.
The stockpiles are only about a third mined out, which means by the time it's done I should have two, maybe three more strange moods.

I'm considering giving in and making armor out of iron so I can just tell the rest of my dwarves only to wear armor and not have to worry about it. I just don't like doing that because it runs the risk of them becoming attached to the iron pieces and not replacing them when steel becomes available.

What this amounts to is that I can't just tell all my dwarves to wear their military uniform in place of clothes, because those who can't get their hands on the highly-demanded armor will just go naked and get unhappy thoughts about not having any clothes.
