Bought a new Meshtastic toy but I live around a bunch of farms in a literal valley named after the Lenape so my experience so far has not been exactly thrilling. It is so cute tho.

We've been actively using #Meshtastic in the early days of Russia's invasion of #Ukraine, right after they hacked #Viasat and crippled comms. These devices are super affordable and there is no quick battery drain.

I may have gone a little overboard creating Meshtastic nodes during the recent Texas freeze. 🤷

8 small electronic devices on a table at a bar. They are Meshtastic nodes of different styles, most are Heltec V3. They look like little beepers from the 90s, with small antennas and led screens.

A super nerdy night with friends. Trying to get our #Meshtastic nodes working, and learning a lot in the process.

Solar mesh node testing. Heltec t-114 node running Meshtastic, 18650 3.4 ah cell, 6 watt panel, repurposed Helium yagi. Everything works, only question is whether the panel is large enough.

Super neat tiny computer. Got #meshtastic loaded up on it.

These dial-up BBSs thrived in the context of local communities. I think there’s an increasing desire and justification for some marginalized communities to socialize and thrive off of the internet. I see the desire for that with projects like Meshtastic. I wonder if we could learn something here.

Bring back FidoNet and BBSs

I was an undergrad 1989-93. In those days various BBSs and MUDs lurked on Janet, usually accessible via telnet. Access was dependent on whether your institution was enlightened. (Mine was).

A feature I thought was going to be a giant pain in the ass to implement but was actually dead simple and easy is letting the player resize the font while the game is running

delve is really promising and has some great generative work in it!

Delve 0.5.2 is up! I fixed a couple of bugs but the main reason for this release is the ability to remap keybindings for players without the refined taste to appreciate vi-style movement keys...

I thought I was used to these Tommy's Toys games ... this one is like chess except instead of a 8x8 board with 32 pieces, it has a 20x50 board with OVER 600 PIECES. Over a dozen types of pieces per side! In text mode!

Finally got my Mini Weather Station project working! It was a fun build using an ESP8266 ESP-01, an OLED screen, and a 3.7V battery. Had a small hiccup with the Wi-Fi connection, but a quick debugging session in the Serial Monitor solved it.

my wyvern and got to the end of the mysterious road in the forest. there was a large swampy lake, on the south side of which we found a hole leading to a beautiful ruined underground structure choked with foliage.

playing poschengband. i'm exploring the weaponsmith class further. this character made it pretty far- i'm level 21 and i found a mysterious road in the middle of the forest which leads far to the east...

i made friends with a wyvern, and have been figuring out smithing.
