Notre avocate féministe Amanda Therrien a parlé des défis et solutions juridiques pour reconnaître le travail invisible & faire avancer la sécurité économique des femmes.

Yesterday, NAWL joined the National Coalition for the Equity of Invisible Work at "Making the Invisible a Priority." Our Feminist Lawyer and Researcher Amanda Therrien spoke on legal challenges and solutions to recognizing invisible work and boosting women’s economic security.

In Reflections and Resolve: Civil Society Pathways to Push Forward for Gender Equality, UN Under-Secretary-General and UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous offered another great quote, "gender equality is seized with defiance, fought for with persistence, and won through collective power." #CSW69

Un grand merci à la Fédération canadienne des femmes diplômées des universités d'avoir accueilli l'événement Educating Women and Girls. Cette session a mis l'accent sur la nécessité d'une éducation complète aux droits de la personne pour les jeunes afin de connaître leurs droits. #CSW69

Ce matin, l'ANFD a assisté à un dialogue interactif avec des femmes afghanes en Afghanistan et en exil. Cette session a discuté de l'apartheid des genres en Afghanistan et souligné que la violence faite aux femmes n'importe où est une violence contre les femmes partout. #CSW69

A big thank you to the Canadian Federation of University Women for hosting Educating Women and Girls: Advancing Their Empowerment and Equality. This session emphasized the need for comprehensive human rights education for youths to ensure that they know their rights under UN instruments. #CSW69

This morning NAWL attended Afghan Women Calling for Action: An Interactive Dialogue with Afghan Women from inside Afghanistan and in Exile. This session discussed gender apartheid in Afghanistan and highlighted that violence against women anywhere is violence against women everywhere! #CSW69

Yesterday afternoon NAWL attended Women's Strike, 50 Years On - Icelandic Quest for Equality. The women's strike represented a pivotal moment for gender equality in Iceland and is a lesson on how peaceful civil disobedience can be used to compliment substantive, legislative changes. #CSW69

Lundi, l'ANFD participé à un atelier sur la participation politique et le leadership des femmes autochtones. Tous les niveaux de gouvernement doivent en faire davantage pour centrer le savoir et le leadership des femmes autochtones et mettre en œuvre les appels à la justice. #CSW69

L'ANFD a participé à la session "Transforming social norms: Advancing women's leadership" à l'occasion de la conférence #CSW69. Ce mouvement mondial de remise en question des normes sociales qui entravent la participation politique des femmes à tous les niveaux est plus nécessaire que jamais !
