How the history of midwifery and obstetrics still affects what you do today in pregnancy care: the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology MFM starts a new “Obstetrical history” series As stated by Mark Twain, “History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” This editorial welcomes a new series of articles for the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology MFM on “obstetrical history.” As an example, the first articles review the history of induction of labor, which is one of the most common, researched, and discussed topics in obstetrics to date, as well as the length of the second stage.1,2 Why “lose time” with history in the era of artificial intelligence, fast social media messages, big data, and machine learning? There are a few reasons.

The Table of this Editorial is so interesting. World love to see such table 20 years from now. I’d hope for much more personalised treatments (in a non-hype way); doses, monitoring, choices.

OK, this is a positively great account of some of the weirder properties of (some) confidence intervals.

Few weeks before running out of funding, our research group got saved by 3 grants after too many rejections this year. Very happy but a bit academically bruised - is this really the most rational way to do science?
