Frodsham……took a while but eventually great views of 5 Water Pipits on Lordship Lane, ringtail Hen Harrier and male Marsh Harrier too.

Burton Mere RSPB…..the Green Woodpecker and Spotted Redshank showed well this afternoon @rspbburtonmere.bsky.social

Hoylake…..5 Long-tailed Duck, 2 Guillemot, 1 Red-throated Diver, 2 Sandwich Tern, 1 Little Gull and 1 Swallow at low tide. @patchbirding.bsky.social

Multiple flocks of Common Scoter seen/heard over Liverpool, Crosby, Bolton, Blackburn and on into Yorkshire last night.

Depends how high tide is, but early tomorrow morning should be good. I was going to have another look myself tomorrow.

Hoylake…..Black Scoter showed well yesterday afternoon but not always easy when some of the Common Scoter so bright in the sunshine.

Yes, you need to walk out a few hours either side of low tide.
Straight out from RNLI Hoylake.
Was very cold and a bit too choppy out there today.

North Wales …… nice day out, 8 Black Grouse at the lek, 3 Goshawk at Clocaenog, 3 Red Kite, Crossbill and great views of Red Grouse.

Hoylake…….another cold walk out to the low tide shoreline this morning was rewarded with this interesting looking drake Scoter….. general consensus is Black Scoter @patchbirding.bsky.social

Lancashire Mosses……a nice flock of 11 Corn Bunting on the wires Plex Moss lane this morning.

Glossy Ibis showed really well today at Rhuddlan NR North Wales.

Surf’s Up! …….the drake Surf Scoter eventually gave itself up but only after scanning the flock for a couple of hours.
Great scope views from the fishermen’s pier at Colwyn Bay.

Kumlien’s Gull……eventually showed well after an hour of sifting through the gulls on roof of WSR recycling Widnes.

Liverpool birding……great views of the Shore Lark at Oglet, in with large flock of skylarks.

Lancashire……tripod problems meant a trip to InFocus at Brockholes. Nearby the juv Great Northern Diver at Pine Lake and the 2 Bewick’s Swan at Cockersands showed really well.

Marbury CP…..Hawfinch showed well in trees near lido with his afternoon.

Oman……recent trip with Barcelonabirding….pelagic out of Salalah, highlights Persian Petrel, Flesh-footed Petrel, Masked Booby, rafts of Red-necked Phalarope and a distant Swinhoe’s Petrel.

Amur Stonechat…..just had the DNA results back for the bird we found in Sept at Spurn. Amur and not the Siberian Stonechat that everyone thought it was .
