I have done this too. As an English instructor I have heard of at least one prof who is doing oral exams —which can be a good workaround, but it’s a fundamentally different kind of thinking than writing, which requires struggle and sustained attention. Makes me sad to think that could be lost

Agreed — as someone who saw this several weekends a month living in Nashville, it’s not terribly surprising anymore. These guys are emboldened and open about their views, especially post-covid, and they do this stuff with relative regularity. But it never stops being despicable or disturbing.
