Splat is an artistic hub for all things print media and DIY culture in downtown Spokane Back during our nation’s fight for independence, a man named Thomas Paine had some choice words for our friends across the pond.

We sat down with Madison Pearson at the @inlander.com to talk about who we are and what we're about. Have a look!

Splitting my time between old and new material while laying out a book. Part of that is archiving a body of older work. Today is a throwback to a page created for Dune 61 back in April of 2018. The Grave Digger's Bad Day. Micron and blue pencil ... drawn at the long-gone Cafe Racer in the UDistrict.

Typically my game progress is reported with a phrase like … “finally beat that mf’er on the forest level. It sucked.” I think most people back in the day would report biome or distinct feature of level. We did use numbers on games like the old Ninja Gaiden

Three screenprinted patches are binder-clipped side-by-side to a clothes hanger. The fabric appears to be brown tweed or similar. On it is printed in large, blocky, stylized letters: "melt ICE". The outer two are positives (black lettering), the middle one is a negative (black field of ink with non-printed lettering within).

.
UPDATE:
Our Grand Opening has been moved up to 10am this Saturday to accommodate the planned protests. We will be distributing FREE artist-designed 11"x17" and 8.5"x14" cardstock signs throughout the day.

Zine making, buttonmaking, and live music will go on as scheduled from 12p-5p. See you then!

The Kuretake watercolors have a wonderful color palette. Still getting used to them. One friend referred to them as old school watercolors. But may not be versed enough to see that comparison.

Sometimes you don't feel inspired or into drawing that day. Went out to Ballard Sketch Team on Tuesday and made myself commit to some output. This rough and imperfect thing was the result.

A Washington hiker’s guide to the 2025 federal shutdown As national parks, national forests and wildlife refuge operations shutdown and federal employees are furloughed, here's how hikers can still recreate responsibly across the state.

The National Parks are closed. Protect them by not visiting these treasures when they are at their most vulnerable.

Grey Cat Lost from Dune 93 created at Hugo House in Aug. Suicide is difficult topic. Society has a tough time talking about it. We barely talk about death. She loved Seattle and seemed fitting to include in Dune. Which is a very Seattle entity. She could be part of this city and its longer memory.

people tired of conservative hypocrisy and CEO’s has nothing to do with the guy being white.
Maybe the CEO was in a consensual open relationship and the Jumbotron outed him and now he is caught up in moral backlash. But having an affair with your HR Director is very unprofessional and comedy gold.
