Same sir! I can’t go to cons anymore because I just feel like the gross old nerd. Not competitive enough to fit in magic the gathering spaces. Just keep feeling at a disadvantage when trying to make friends or be part of communities.

Even as the DM it’s not my game, if I’m running for a new group my narrative hardly survives first contact with a group dynamic. I’ve had games that started with a serious tone devolve into anime hijinks because the players wanted that. I like my grim hard fantasy but I’m just part of the team.
