Är inte detta en mycket stark överdrift? "Med andra ord har amerikanska universitet knappast präglats av någon större akademisk frihet tidigare heller."

The author also points out that redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor would actually increase emissions. The author highlights the importance of distinguishing between poverty alleviation and emission reduction as separate goals. Link: ekonomistas.se/2023/11/29/f...
29.11.2023 09:45 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The author argues that while it is not surprising that the rich emit more CO2, reducing inequality may not necessarily reduce emissions. The author suggests including a figure showing emissions per unit of income for different income groups to provide a more nuanced view.
29.11.2023 09:44 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I just posted a blog text about a new report from Oxfam about inequality and the climate. It is in Swedish, but Wordpress new AI tool gives a good summary: "The content of the post discusses a recent report by Oxfam on carbon emissions and income inequality in Sweden. ..."

One of them is recognizing important *descriptive* work built painstakingly over decades. This is rare.
Two big examples are Fogel (C.Goldin's advisor) and Kuznets (Fogel's advisor). Few other examples (Stone, Deaton, Ostrom?).
Acemoglu is once again the favorite in our yearly poll. But the real news is that we learned that our readers are not just clicking on the first alternative on the list.

I wouldn’t dare to make a prediction, but I’d be happy if Persson et al or Granovetter & Jackson got it.

Any suggestions of women to add or Johns to substract? (Btw, there is no John among John Bates Clark medalists.) #EconSky ekonomistas.se/2023/10/03/v...
