Yes I am wearing a glove here as the frozen wood was really painful when the chips were hitting my hand. I was extra careful not to get it caught.

I got to spend some much needed time with my friend and Mentor Ken Burton yesterday trying out a new type of turning. Technically a hollow vessel, the opening of the vessel is smaller than the major diameter.

The wood will be gorgeous while the shape is simple.

The vicious cycle of monopolization:

1) Corporations argue that their growth is just part of the free market.
2) Use their monopoly power to gouge consumers.
3) Take a portion of their profits to make political donations.
4) Lobby against antitrust enforcement.
5) Repeat.

The same people who’ve spent the last several years decrying “unqualified DEI hires” are now shoehorning through Cabinet nominations who can’t even pass a basic background test.
