#GH There is no way Laura should continue to be Mayor. She openly admits that she allows a mobster to continue to operate in her city because he's her de-fector law enforcement. Her goal should be to not have any mob operating in her city. If Anna is incapable, fire her.
I don't know why the writers decided to turn her into an idiot, but they did, just as they turned Anna.
Just the idea that Laura would be ok with any mobster running her town is sick. She should have been all over Anna to run all the mob out of town, including Sonny and Jason.
