18.11.2025 13:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ARC Raiders was mentioned...okay! But failed to mention Embark said they used: "TTS (Text-to-speech, always based on real voices." Then post-launch stated they used generative AI? π€ π€¦πΎββοΈ this conversation just needs to continue until we have legislation against it within creative arts.

Super important discussion to have an question to ask and I am really glad you asked it.
AI in itself isnβt particularly bad. Itβs the application of it. There is a hard push for it to be implemented into everything by force.
Gen AI π€ is and full stop.
Hey guys Iβve got commissions open. Like. All the time. The post is on my account here.

Right!? Corporate greed at it's finest. I definitely don't want to be just another voice complaining into the void. But I really want to be part of active conversations to flip this script, it's definitely fuelling my fire. That goood games development can happen without AI.
15.11.2025 23:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0All these new titles launching and not even hiding generative AI, the worst part about it they're launching in genre's that haven't had anything unique for a while. Sure, visuals look good. But developmentally and morally, it's a nightmare.

Yes! They did use AI for the voices, and both teams benefit from each other work. Frustrating and just disheartening to see.
11.11.2025 20:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Unfortunately, both games and teams share development resources π€¦πΎββοΈ worst choice ever.
11.11.2025 20:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pretty much the status quo for me also! And it's just not even worth the investment. Thankfully, there are still game developers and publishers out there doing good things.
11.11.2025 19:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Really appreciate your thoughts here! - Yes! I think if we want to see change? We have to be the change. It's sad finding out later on how much a company uses AI and the fact it wasn't said by Embark before and article says a lot.

While ARC Raiders has boasted some technical prowess.
I can't in good conscience support a studio profiting from through AI development that causes wider harm to the games industry.
I would argue they did a lot of things right. But choosing to use AI to with the excuse of "faster iteration" just doesn't cut it. VO's can take minutes to second to record or re-record, depending on talent. I'd know, I do it for a living.

Not sure what I was hoping for. But this isn't it. βAs a pro creator first. I won't be supporting ARC Raiders any more. No matter how well my lore videos did. It's a matter of livelihood and principles.
Machines shouldn't replace human creativity. That's the line.
