Also: Doug is just constantly looking for places to put 80km worth of tunneling debris for his other stupid idea - the stupidest one.
When overlayed onto a map of Toronto, Doug's drawing a pentagram of bad projects to curse this city with.
Also just looking for places to dump 80km of tunneling waste. Island for a casino, runway and ramp extensions. Might as well make a mini alp out the Etobicoke garbage hill. All of it so dumb.
for rwy 26; haze and general heavy radio traffic. Add in jets, with their requirement for a huge blast area during run-up, wake turbulence a hazard for mixed aircraft (even sailboats), extra noise, extra emissions, larger de-icing pads and more fluid, it's just not necessary.
some glide should you have engine trouble and avoiding man-made terrain, but staying under Pearson's class B airspace, mixed traffic of small aircraft, helicopters, comparatively faster Dash 8s; few options if things go poorly; mech turbulence from buildings, plus winds aren't always well aligned
I haven't actually flown into Billy Bishop. From what I hear, GA pilots love it bcs it's just a really a cool airport to fly into with the city RIGHT there. But it's tricky VFR navigating: east-west traffic along the lakeshore, north-south up and down the Don Valley; staying high enough to give you
Every idea that comes out of Doug Ford is pre-ossified, like he was passing kidney stones all over the province.
I love this airport, honestly. But it's days are numbered and, as a low hour baby pilot, adding jets to this airspace, mixing with Pearson's is 100% not needed.
When darkness falls, it's time to migrate.
I love this radar map/app for tracking migration density and direction. So cool to see things hitting their peak before dawn, then going out and hearing all the new voices in the morning. Welcome back birds.

Hey fellow scientists, I'm just letting you know that if you're promoting something with some junky AI image, I'm not gonna click. You've got a workshop, a conference, a new paper?
Just not gonna bother. You want a bespoke image? Hire an illustrator.
This behavior is gonna be in the DSM VI, have its own chapter.
OH YES.
Doubly so for people who do it along the Bruce Trail.
Your dog just took a shit in the woods, you bagged it for posterity (ok, good habit), and then you left it trail side for all to see.
Explain yourself!

“Do you know what we need to do more? We need to start promoting it more,” Ford said, hinting his government may advertise their health-care achievements, a year after Ontario spent a government-record $112 million on ads.
Please don't. Spend it ON healthcare, not fibs and half truths.
Just a box, driving around, merging courteously with traffic.
There really needs to be an annual citizen or journalist led award in Canada for the politician who proposes the dumbest use of our tax dollars. We can't vote to end their tenure at the moment, but we can vote yearly to shame them for being idiots on the public dime.
And here I was joking. The tunnel and its island are the dumbest f***ing idea to ever come out of a Canadian politician, and that is saying something. bsky.app/profile/gloo...
Geeze, had I stayed in the cadaver biz, I feel like we would have been coworkers.
I dunno. I think all people inherently have a sense of what is good and right. People do wake up, after being fed lies and nonsense, and even after being forced to hurt others. Eventually, people start to fight for what is good and right. This, I believe - or at least I want to.
tribal fights.
Sometimes people have to lose, or be close to losing things to crystalize how important they are and *really* fight for them.
They are capable of so much incredible stuff, but unfortunately we're seeing the opposite side of that coin. And it is despicable and repulsive.
There is a small part of me that thinks/hopes that, despite how dark and shitty things are right now in US, they are actually closer than we think to something awesome - a sensible country that actually cares way more for decency and human goodness than just corporate profit, power and primitive
I really think he imagines social situations and conversations. There is so much "everyone is saying", "they're all saying". Who is "they"?
I'm no psychia/ologist, but that would seem to me a real tell v/v narcissism; these imagined conversations, all about him, all supporting him. It's weird.
Gotta put 80kms of tunnelling debris somewhere. Might as well truck it non-stop, right down Yonge as a double F-U to the decent people of Toronto.
Welcome…to Fantasy Island!
So…a protection racket?

Used to have an office over a pub in a village. One of my co-workers was super chuffed with himself for buying one of the first tiny folding e-bikes. "Come here to me: I can keep it the boot. Then, after a good session, I can just ride that home instead of the car! Now I can have 5 or 6 pints!"
The ads were more geared to the village pub goer. They lowered the legal blood-alcohol limit for driving to ~ one pint, which was a rural pub killer. So people walked on dark, narrow rural roads, wearing, as the Irish do, mostly dark clothes. They really just wanted people to call for a ride.
At Christmas time in Ireland, when the pub season is in full swing, there used to be "Don't drink and walk" ads on TV. (there were a higher number of pedestrian fatalities when drinking, but...still, really...)
Aptly, and ironically named. The only fury that will be epic is the long term repercussions of this misadventure.
And apologies to spotted hyenas (they're just doing what they do), this is an unfortunate insult to them to be compared to the men in this grotesque little club of super and not-so-super villains.
Ah yes, the Board of Peace, pictured below peacefully enforcing peace on a sovereign country.
But if you ever want to see what someone who has actually sold their soul looks like...Rubio.
