Gaelic and Scots now recognised as official languages - BBC News The milestone is one of a number of new measures taking effect on St Andrew's Day from the Scottish Languages Act.

Happy St Andrews day! And a piece of good news/deagh naidheachd from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 as Scots and Gaelic are, as of today, recognised as official languages. As a Scots and Gaelic speaker (well…tha beagan Gàidhlig agam for now) I’m delighted (and officially tri-lingual!) www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

A poster advertising the webinar. Text reads: "Why are women's symptoms so often dismissed, misdiagnosed, or disbelieved? This webinar explores the intersection of chronic illness, gender bias, and the credibility gap in healthcare. Drawing on research from her upcoming book, Dr Eilidh Galbraith examines how structural inequalities and medical misogyny shape diagnostic practices, clinical listening, and the ethics of care. Through shared lived experience with panelists Charli Clement, author of "All tangled up in autism and chronic illness," Natalie Busari, founder of "the Nerve of my MS" and Tanya Marlow, speaker and author of "Those who Wait" (2017), this session invites participants to reflect on what it means to be heard and to be believed in a system that too often fails those in pain."

Have you attended a Church of Ireland ordination service? Are you interested in sharing your experiences and insights? This study is for you!

It focuses on the experiences of individuals who have attended Church of Ireland ordination services as part of a PhD research project at the University of Aberdeen. It is led by you, aiming to represent how you talk about your experiences of these services in your own words. The focus is on your personal beliefs whether they are a form of Christianity or something else, particularly whether certain actions performed during the ordination you attended made a difference to these. The study will involve a short survey and the possibility of a follow-up interview, all conducted online for your convenience.

Who can take part?
Adults aged 18 or older
Anyone who has attended a Church of Ireland ordination service (including the making of deacons, the ordination of priests/presbyters, or the consecration of bishops – you do not have to know which service to take part)
People who do not regularly attend church are particularly welcome

What will it involve?
Completing a short online survey (approximately 20 minutes) via Microsoft Forms at your convenience
Option to participate in a follow-up interview conducted via Microsoft Teams

Confidentiality and anonymity:
Your responses will be kept confidential and anonymised
Only provide your contact details if you agree to follow-up with an interview
You can withdraw from the study at any time without explanation

Interested in taking part?
Please contact me at c.west.24[at]abdn.ac.uk to express your interest or for more information. This study is supervised by Dr Katie Cross who can also be contacted at k.cross[at]abdn.ac.uk with any questions. Your experiences and perspectives are important to me, and I look forward to hearing from you!
