It's been awhile since I've been on this app, but I figured I'd start making a return to it as a place for my thoughts and feelings again.

Currently, my thoughts and feelings are, humanity is fucked. True story.

Well, tomorrow is the big one. The big 4-0. Forty years old. The big halfway point in life. It's only downhill from here, they say.

I'll be celebrating tonight at Inn Zone in Richmond, since I have to be up early on Monday for work, but this weekend is, quite honestly, very big indeed.

I’m one of the most giving people on the face of this earth, to my own detriment sometimes, but expecting me to respond at all times just assumes I don’t have a job (wrong) or I don’t need sleep (super wrong). I don’t appreciate that.

No one can be available 24/7, unless it’s a hospital or help line. You expect too much from your “friends.” We can’t always drop everything to interact with you. You don’t know what someone is going through.

With all due respect and all that comes with that: if I talk to you regularly, in person or in text, and make the effort to include you in things, and you post that “no one talks to [you] anymore” and that you “don’t have any friends,” I’m gonna get pissed off.

It's been an interesting day this far... A guy from a surveying company came in and took a survey of the store layout. I'm guessing we're gearing up for a store refresh.

Needless to say, the former friend who has shown their true colors has been blocked, and will no longer be welcome in my life. Next time, choose your words carefully.

I chose to set boundaries at the beginning of this year. I told myself this would be my year, and I would MAKE it my year, no matter what. If you wanna ride with me, you better claim your seat now, lest you fall by the wayside. And I'm not picking you back up if that happens.

I'm almost 40. Drama is high school bullshit, and when I'm sitting here wondering whether or not I want to go to my 20-year reunion (which is this year), and I realize it'll likely be less-drama-filled than my actual life, there's a problem.

I defended a friend tonight who was having lies spread about her, and was immediately backstabbed by someone who I thought was my friend. Fuck Mike? No, fuck you. I have no room in my life for toxic people.

I reaggravated my foot injury... I'm in extraordinary amounts of pain and, yet, I'm still at work. Sitting because I have great difficulty walking, but still here.

Went to the bathroom about midway through my shift... I was in there for a grand total of five minutes and twice did someone try to enter. Have patience, people. Everyone poops.

Held a benefit for my friend who passed on Sunday night. It went very, very well; we raised a little over $1200 and covered the headstone for the gravesite. The family is, of course, very appreciative.

No, 2024, I don't think you understand... You're gonna be MY bitch, not the other way around. It's coming up on my 40th year on this planet... I'm done being time's doormat. It's time I start seizing the opportunities instead of letting them find me. Fuck around and find out, 2024.

So, I'm being put in a position at work where I either have to call off to attend my friend's funeral, or miss an entirely and come work my normal shift. I'm seriously considering a change of employment at this point... But before I can do any of that I got to make sure that I have a fallback plan.
