Ignore the typos, i got passionate about the subject matter. Not like I expect anyone to really read past the first paragraph with an open mind anyways.
tl;dr socialism good, but not it's whole. It only promises an end goal, an ideal, but an ideal that only works if all participating is a revolutionary. What's better than socialism? Not an ideaology, but the best of all of them.
I probably say these words onto deaf ears, and that's okay. I have confidence in the intelligent to read past the division in modern discourse and seek something more tangible. And I'll be there for them.
WE NEED SOCIALISM. But not it's whole, for it doesn't have the strength to protect against the strong minded. The leaders of the world. We need a balance of ideas, not an ideology. Capitalism needs to be on a leash, not switch it for another hound. They are both of the same breed.
America had a concept of what a proper nation should be run, and was perfect. A nation ran on a survival of fittest attitude of ideologies. A nation ran on the best of all ideologies. But with not enough strong measures against capitalism, it grew out of hand.
"But what is better, then?" I don't know. It's a scary thought, but I don't really know. And I don't think anyone truly knows, which is why younger folk like myself are drawn to the socialist fantasy ideal reality. But all I do know is that a nation ran on solely socialism will never work.
And this is just one of many questions to ask, because society can't live off of one ideal, and by words of others, "good ideals will make themselves reality" is just not enough to cut it.
I was convinced like any other young person, but eventuality I saw through those words as nothing.
But there is no real plan after that fantasy. How do we keep those who want to rule at bay and those who want to be sheep, strong? How do you strike that perfect balance? Because if society is fragmented, all it takes is a strong leader to group all those resources together for their own misdeeds.
Even in socialist, communist, etc etc circles, they revere the words of idols who speak for them. The leaders in question. It's human nature to have someone who is believed to be beyond their time, taking their word into higher value. Because they speak in fantasy, and often fantasy is blissful.
Socialism (and the end goal, communism) assumes that everyone participating in society is a revolutionary, an idealist, but as we can see from capitalism, that's not the case. When given an opportunity, people will want a leader. And there will be those to take that place to stomp on others.
(real thread) I WANT to like socialism, who wouldn't want that? The working man owning the means of production, overthrowing the capitalist overlords, but beyond that? nothing. Out of everything i've read, there was no real plan. And It mad me really mad.

A while back I was messing with some socialists, but I never really once explained my own stance on the ideology. Online socialists don't really have brain cells, so they just assume anyone who says anything bad about socialist is a fash, so for future reference, this thread will explain things. 1/?

As much as I hate to admit it, for once republicans were right about one single thing. Socialists are really funny to poke fun at, say one thing and their entire point devolves into "fash!!"
