Speak Up with the Mill Street Neighborhood!
Come to the city council this Tuesday the 24th at 10 AM
Norwood, Colorado Springs' biggest developer is trying to use $10 million in public funds to develop a luxury hotel next to mill street.
They've refused to bargain a community benefit agreement with the neighborhood.
Why does this matter? Mill St. is one of the oldest working class neighborhoods in colorado springs.
Neighbors here are at an increased risk of displacement from raising rents and property taxes.
The money norwood plans to use for this luxury hotel is being diverted from our public schools and libraries.
What's the strategy? Norwood needs city council to vote yes on their urban renewal proposal to get this money
Neighbors and allies are showing up to city hall to tell the council to table this vote until norwood negotiates a legally binding community benefit agreement (CBA) with the neighborhood.
Join COST at the City Council meeting to ask city council to table their vote on norwood's luxury hotel until norwood negotiates a legally binding community benefit agreement with the Mill Street Neighborhood.
Norwood wants to use 10 million dollars in public funds, so it should benefit the public.

Ukrainians of Colorado's Post
Dear Community & Friends,
Our Stand With Ukraine Rally is a space centered on Ukraine - on supporting Ukrainians, honoring resilience, and keeping global attention on Russia’s ongoing aggression.
We recognize that many important conversations are happening within American politics, and we deeply respect that people hold strong views. For this gathering, however, we kindly encourage everyone to keep the focus on Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.
This event is about solidarity, visibility, and unity across backgrounds, beliefs, and communities.
We are especially grateful to the many Americans who continue to stand with Ukraine. Your support, compassion, and presence have been profoundly meaningful.
We warmly invite all Americans and allies to join us.
