"Women are PIs on 58% of the canceled grants, although they are PIs on only 34% of all active NSF grants.
Similarly, Blacks are PIs on 17% of the terminated grants, although they make only 4% of the total pool. Hispanic PIs and those with disabilities were twice as likely to lose a grant."

NIGMS supports basic research to understand biological processes and lay the foundation for advances in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
The NIH diversity supplement pages have all been pulled down. What is a diversity supplement and why should the public care? A diversity supplement is funding to help diversify the research workforce. You may be wondering, βso what?β. Let me explain. www.nigms.nih.gov/Pages/PageNo...

It also varies so much depending on how much support (and what type) someone has. My spouse is very flexible so is able to pick up my slack when needed. This would be way harder if he had an inflexible job, if we lived really far from family, or if we didnβt have a good support system.

Being a parent helps in a lot of ways- gives you new perspectives on your work, creates some built in boundaries, forces you to be more efficient. But it also means your time is extremely limited. Thereβs very little time that Iβm not working or parenting.

Collective Punishment in Gaza Will Not Bring Israel Security
Scholarship suggests the overwhelming violence unleashed on the strip is not just a violation of international law β it is militarily ineffective
Very glad to see this nuanced piece from Wendy Pearlman citing research from her recent book with Boaz Atzili to drive home the point again that there is no military solution to this crisis.
