I haven't watched Downton Abbey but I went to the Fleurs de Villes Downton Abbey Exhibit at RBG with friends this weekend. It was the second last day of the exhibit and even though some of the flowers were starting to wilt, overall they held up pretty well??

it's absolutely not the same thing. the calculator is accurate every single time, for one. it doesn't hallucinate results or findings and doesn't lie when it can't do something. it wasn't trained unethically on data whose owners didn't consent, nor is it fuelled by massive power hungry datacentres

And they're losing their ability to think creatively / for themselves, to draw their own connections and learn to ask the critical questions.

Yes!!!!! Honestly I feel crazier by the day that this stance isn't more popular and that people just fully leaned into using it to do their research and remove the most rewarding part of the process ie exploring ideas, under the guise that it's just a "tool" they're using. It's pigeonholing them
