Latest author discourse... why do Netgalley readers give such bad reviews on books handed to them for free. It's the one cluster of readers that is more prone to doing this than anyone else.

There were surveys run for a few years. At one point, nearly 80% identified as male. And while that might have changed with the greater awareness of NB and trans individuals, likely transfemale and female are very low on this list still. en.wikifur.com/wiki/Furry_S...

I figured it was more of a female vs male divide. Most omegaverse readers are women and most furries are men.

Question for the writers... how is werewolves and Omegaverse, or any dark fantasy romance with monsters, be any different that furries or anthros? And why is the latter more reviled?

Amazon doesn't file directly with some countries, as far as I've heard. So in order to be taxed, you'd have to declare. It's an honor system.

Not everyone who uses Amazon is an American.

The indie author transparency posts where an author posted (just) their 170,000,000 KENP page reads isn't playing it safe, because book math.

They sold at least $1 million in books, if including ebooks/paperbacks. This isn't humble bragging, this is stupid.

It's one of the easiest tests to see if you're in social media jail, too. Because normally they prioritize making people easily happy to keep them on a platform.

I hate this timeline. I offer my books for discounts, for free, and I can't get this.

Am I the only one who releases a book, and then sees someone else release on the same day and then wants to punch them for going, "Teehee! I got 100 people to pick up my book!" Or is it just me?

When people willingly pick up my audio book, all I can say is "Sorry about your loss. You should get that checked out." Now what loss is, varies. Either common sense or hearing. There is a sample, and I ain't no angel to listen to.

Either way, I both commend you and am concerned.

If anyone is wondering how well my Smashwords book sale is doing... it's not.
