Today marks 8 years since the Grenfell Tower fire, when 72 people needlessly died because of corporate greed and deceit.

Every year, I am moved by the resolve, kindness and humanity of the community.

8 years on, we are still fighting for justice.

Each of you whispered
before you were born.

On a seductive summer breeze
you caught my breath

and evening fell light and languid
into my open palms.

You all knew me, you said,
took this place near my heart

even before the birth of humanity
even though I wondered why

I knew it to be true.

I’m finding myself scared to read too fast. I’m savouring it like expensive dark chocolate. As a kitchen witch, I’m entranced: truly exquisite writing Ms Harris!
