Thank you so much for these two brilliant weeks in the jungle 🐒🦎🦥🌿 it was intense, we worked and sweat a lot but the memories will stay forever! Beautiful place, awesome passionate group of people 🤩 looking forward to keeping in touch and reading about all the amazing research!

It was an amazing two weeks!
We worked hard, coded a lot, and listened to very interesting lectures.

It is time to say Goodbye 🥺 Today is the last day of #Animove at #OTS #LaSelva in Costa Rica. It was two weeks of fun in the jungle with many motivated #animalmovement researchers learning different methods for analysing their data. Stay in touch!

Weekend break was fun, now back to work 👍 Whilst the first week was teaching heavy, the second week is focusing on the learned new methods using data sets that everyone has brought along to work with.

Day 5 of week 1 @animove-course.bsky.social was about analysing our movement data together with their environmental context, through resource selection and step selection functions.

The fourth day of #AnimoveCR was all about environmental context, how to download and process information about our planet (remote sensing and climate data).
The day ended with a fantastic talk by @njklappstein.bsky.social speaking about her research on polar bears 🐻‍❄️

Another day of #AnimoveCR 😀 Analysing animal movement with continuous-time models by @ecoisilva.bsky.social and Chris Fleming, ending with a fantastic plenary talk by @kamransafi.bsky.social on Kruger National Park research.

Second day of #AnimoveCR was all about the geometry of movement trajectories and their behavioural segmentation using hidden markov models.....but also a little bit of shopping 🤗

#AnimoveCR has started 🐒🦥🦇🐸🦜🦂🕷️ with a Natural History Walk. It was fantastic!
