I go on a lot of solo hikes. I can attest to hiking and coming across random crying women on the trail. I have absolutely had to help women who were abandoned find their way back to the start. I even give one woman a ride into town, because the guy that left her was her ride.

Okay, we probably should nip the term "Alpine Divorce" in the bud before it takes hold like "Stockholm Syndrome."

What's actually happening is men are setting women up to be stranded.

Texans who want to help have a simple way to do so: offer to drive these folks home. Make as few or as many trips as your time, gasoline budget, and conscience allow.
