Maybe true but the story of this season looks like the floor of the PL continues to rise but the ceiling is way down on previous years. Maybe it’s the decline of generational players but I also think the relentless physicality has stopped the next gen of great players stepping up - look at Saka.

I don’t think 20-21 & 22-23 ever felt this bad. There may have been injuries or players going past their peak but the team always had an identity and playing style that was recognisable. The current team needs refreshing ala 22-23 but there is no semblance of an identity to their play.

Is the 5th PL spot actually locked down- 4/5 Eng teams could be knocked out next week

PL level being uncovered this week. Who knew playing rugby is no prep for CL football?

The collective noun for such people is a “Compliance Department”

There will be recruitment so the issue is who is the best man for next season. Slot is toast if he went into the season with a squad & plan that he was happy with. However if he pointed out the risks last summer then he has a case to stay. I still think his lack of proper rotation is inexcusable.

Not weird Ted. LFC have been throwing in these performances regularly. Konate & Mcallister awful and a 4th tier coach could see Salah needs a change of role or an exit.

Happening all season. The bigger issue is these attacking situations stem from mistakes or individual skill. No semblance of repeatable attacking moves from Slots team that would see them be far more efficient in their choices and output.

An Adrian v Athletico Madrid performance by Mamardashvili would so in keeping with our season so far

Ha- a keeper with normal sized hands would caught Tonali’s shot

The internecine disputes of the left are more damaging to them than anything inflicted by the right wing process. I guess that’s what happens when you concentrate people who are all certain that they alone have the moral high ground.

I felt the same at the time he played it. Jones and Szobo are far too conservative in their passing choices, given their talent.

Pathetic. Should have gone at them in first half but Gakpo & Salah are where attacks go to die these days.

Starting Salah & Gakpo is like playing with 9 men atm. Rio & Chiesa aren’t 90 minute players though

Have you seen how bad our wingers are atm?

Stealing peoples creative work is fine but streaming a sold out football match at 3pm on a Saturday is morally wrong. What a country.

No FIFA rules plus Gianni plus Trump = Israel are invited

Ironically Gabriel does the same on every offensive set piece. On another day that gets given. Spurs still lose though

Battered for the 1st half and still only made one real chance. Forest are definitely in trouble

Pathetic. Only hope is Forest tire and Slot earns his keep with some positive tactical changes ( Gomez on, 4 in midfield?).

Woeful today. Should bring on Gomez for Gakpo, flood the midfield and play Ekitike & Salah up front.

A lot riding on on our weeks rest vs their Thursday game in Turkey

All small beer compared to the benefit Farage gets from the implosion of the 2 main parties as they both abandoned their traditional supporters.

Players he bought though- a big part of superclub transfers is identifying who can perform under the intense pressure at these clubs

Good article but it is striking how UK sports media will rightly condemn the actions of a footballer while their political colleagues are often silent on the same racism. Is there really much difference between the abuse of Vini and some of the utterances from Reform candidates & activists?

The key difference is Liverpool had 2 generational players in Salah & VVD who had won everything. In contrast Arsenal have a squad of very good players & manager who have a history of not getting over the line.

And many people will tell you Arteta is a managerial genius that will dominate the game. AFC are running at c80pts in a league where recent champions typically run at a 90pt pace. Still think they’ll win as they’re less flawed than this yrs City though.
