I don't disagree with you, but fwiw Trump has already said it out loud. "Don't buy stuff that uses batteries because they're made in China." Its the same with the windmills and solar; It has everything to do with China. That's the real story

Pretty sure this has been the plan: seize control of all the oil and use it as leverage against China. You can say its for short term riches, and it probably is that too, but the long term goal is control and leverage. China has all the rare earths. US has the oil.

Yeah I guess I don't disagree with that. Is the flight of influencers just a sign of an overall industry downturn? Seems like publishers are less willing to spend money to advertise through them or park them at their booths.

I'm hearing that influencers are abandoning tabletop gaming. Is that a bad thing? Part of a greater trend in the industry as profits become harder to find and tariffs drive up costs? #tabletop #TTRPG #tabletopgaming

Anyone can, but do they know they even exist? Niche categories of niche hobbies aren't a typical entry point for beginners.

Its probably relevant to consider that they're creating content for a wider audience than just avid gamers. That said, you can pry my RPG dice out of my cold dead ableist hand.

When I was a teenager reading D&D rulebooks back in the 80s, I only ever saw the evil gods as something evil things would worship. "Who would ever worship a death cult?" I would think to myself.

As an adult it makes perfect sense, tho. The biggest religions in the world all exalt death. #TTRPGS

Does @chaosium.bsky.social do convention content, like organized play or interconnected adventures? I'm starting to assemble a group of GMs to do it at Quest Con Orlando.

You know how there's all these cool prop sets for horror games set in the 1920s? There needs to be digital prop sets for modern horror: text messages from victims/suspects, social media pages for cults and plot-related businesses, shady conspiracy websites, etc #TTRPG

I'm pretty sure 75% of the youtube content that gets pushed to me is entirely AI-generated. And if it was created in 2025, I would bet its more like 90%

Those of you playing cosmic horror RPGs: Do you set your adventures in the 1920s? Do you play (as many people, including Sandy Peterson, suggest) in current times? #TTRPGS

Looking at all these AI tools being used to transcribe meeting notes, and it seems very clear to me that we are going to end up with endless servers full of shit nobody will ever read.

The random spell each day thing seems a little too random for my tastes. I like my spells lifted from dusty, forbidden tomes, not spontaneously appearing lol

For a Cthulhu-esque game I think spell books are still appropriate, and artifacts definitely. I need to shake the urge to better define spells and their costs and just roll with it.

I think people are still wrapping their heads around the implications of the proliferation of them amongst teenagers and younger. I think regulation is inevitable, but right now its a free for all

Honestly, I'm not a fan of Icespire Peak. On its face, it seems like it would work (looks at all the choices!), but the whole job board thing feels forced and very much like a video game approach.

Back during the covid years, technology seemed like the solution to everybody's problem. Now I don't know anyone that prefers to play online. Folks still do it - for a myriad of reasons - but everybody I know craves face 2 face

I don't know which is worse: Trump not knowing that his staff leaked military secrets to a journalist, or the fact that he is CLEARLY LYING when he says he wasn't aware
