screenshot from the game. character is running to the right through shallow water. they are in a green forest with enormous trees. there are beams of light illuminating a smaller tree.

Planet of Lana II (Switch 2):
Gorgeous landscapes and cityscapes. The emotional highs and lows and the puzzles did not hit me as hard as the original, but there is plenty to like. Story leaves more questions than answers.

NFTs seem both a capitalist stunt and a great tool for digital art Non-fungible tokens could be a game changer for digital art, but it is hard to tell how much of it is just a financial stunt, writes Annalee Newitz

out of curiosity i did a quick search, and this was not even hard to find:

I have literally never had to explain gay people to my kid. There's nothing to explain.

"Why does everyone have to die?" That's hard mode. Explaining gay? Super fuckin' easy.

2d pixel art screenshot from the game. It has a purplish hue. there is a big door and a maze of spikes and square and rectangular platforms. a knight in blue armor with a winged hat jumps near a lizard looking creature.

Lovish (PS5, 2.5 hrs):
A cutesy (and lusty?) satire of heroes and damsels. Repetitive music. Simple but tricky room by room action platforming with unforgiving, and sometimes unforgivable, hitboxes. Smart design that invites perseverance and completionism. Silly.

screenshot from the game. pixel art. some guys dressed like power rangers on a hill. the red one says "Do your best to drink water and eat your veggies!" screenshot from the game. pixel art. bearded man standing next to a very unhappy looking man who says "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU LIVING FOR!?"

Lisa: The Painful (PS5: 11 hours):
A disempowering RPG. Violent, post-apocalyptic, and occasionally grotesque. There is no respite, and you cannot progress without extreme sacrifice. It's almost contradictory, at times, between its weight and its irreverence. Banger music.

AP News headline reads "Russia condemns US-Israel strikes on Iran as 'unprovoked act of armed aggression.'"

It's nice of Russia to bring a bit of levity to the situation.

Another striking thing about this movie is how Christopher Lee somehow managed to make his parts of the script feel natural. Just an exceptional talent. Dude could do anything.

Watched Episode II with my daughter, and there's this part where Anakin and his friends are chained to stone pillars and a bunch of vicious animals are released to execute them, and Anakin says, "I've got a bad feeling about this."

By far the funniest line in the movie.

An old man stands among grass and rocks before a tall stone tablet in the moonlight. A whale with four fins is flying by in the sky.

Selfloss (Steam Deck, 8 hours):
This game does not play to its strengths. A nesting doll of overlong tasks. The moveset is interesting, but puzzles and combat are both mediocre. The platforming(?!) is very bad. Music is great—but underused. Pretty. Way too long.
