One disgusting aspect of all this is Trump fundamentally doesn’t care about it at all. He barely knows where any of these places are. He likes cash in brown envelopes and being on TV as Mr Big Important Guy. He’s just willing to pull any lever he thinks might keep that stuff flowing indefinitely.

So the “plan” for after the fall of the Iranian regime, based on Trump’s latest statement, is literally that the IRGC does a heel-face turn, joins the opposition movement they’ve been killing, and the US bombing continues until there’s peace in the Middle East?
