Sanded down one of the bones, and Void, it's all coming together now!! Will tackle the second one tomorrow after work, also planning to get 1mm foam for their base, since, believe it or not, 2mm foam is too thick. Also, do I carve or paint the runes on that top thingy? Quite unsure...

(Also no one cares probably, but I decided that the charms will be Gutter Feast, Spirit Water and Strong Arms (I am at war with that one), maybe I'll add more over time. Gutter Feast will be fun with the sweets in shape of white mice we have here hehe)

Half of my cosplay room is covered in dust now, that's a problem for tomorrow though :^)
Still planning to make at least two more bone charms once this one is done, would look a little sad to just have one when in cosplay lmao

Bone charm's almost done, bones need to fully dry, then be sanded, shortened, details added; details missing on the not-bone part on top.
Rune needed *a lot* of sanding, didn't pay attention to the edges on my thousand references, had to fix it after sculpting

Yeah, that's true... Not sure if it's anywhere in the lore which parts of the skeleton are actually used, specifically for the bone charms. There's at least mentions of people making them in the past, sailors and such (guess I have to replay the games and read every book I find, ooh nooo /lh /s)

I was wondering the same thing actually, considering how big the runes, and how tiny the bone charms are. Assuming that the whales in DH have similar skeletons like actual whales I'd say:
- runes probably spine, shoulder blade or skull
- charms maybe ribs, remains of hind limbs or fingers
