24.03.2025 09:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Make no mistake: this will happen again if the current political climate is not challenged. It's likely that every trans person out there was, and is, sitting there thinking "That could have been me. It still could be."
We can be better.
We must be better.
Rest in power, Brianna.
The media, and the Tories, had spent a lot of time promoting anti-trans rhetoric, and this was the result. The public rhetoric dialed back in the immediate aftermath, but it's creeping up again.
11.02.2025 12:45 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just a reminder: Brianna Ghey, 16 years old, was stabbed to death, murdered by people pretending to be her friends, 2 years ago today.
Let's be quite clear: she was a victim of media and political manipulation, all of whom were quick to ring their hands about it.
I don't understand folks who act like that. My ex was one of them.
Doesn't change the fact that you are an awesome human being π xx
My sister lives in the States with her family. I see them when they come here.
I won't be flying out to visit them.
YAAAAAAAAY! π₯°
Also, much sympathy for the distractions π

Sequel? ππ
Just finished The Executioner's Blade, by the lovely @aknighton.bsky.social
A genuinely fantastic book. Great (believable) characters, wonderful storytelling, a rich world that's fed to you gently as the story unfolds. So many clever, subtle details. Ebook here:

An excellent piece of storytelling, and well worth your time β€οΈ
Just finished Citizen Sleeper.
What a fantastic piece of writing. I was genuinely surprised by how emotionally intelligent it was, and by the fact that there are very few clear cut "good/bad" decisions. The characters are believable, conflicted, /1
