This is so much sadder cause a: digital face replacement on stuntmen has been happening for years and b: the fact that it was so thoroughly mid really has no excuse. Like random fight guys on YouTube regularly put out more impressive choreography.

I think the big difference here is that the hair tufts above her eyes and the quills on the side of her head are rendered the same way in the normal art style but in the movie they're distinct different things.

I mean they wouldn't. That's kinda the point of quills they're rigid and stick out at the direction their folicile is pointing. They don't form into easily readible large forms like hair.
