π Green Party WINS Aigburth ward Liverpool City Council for the first time β overturning more than 100 years of legacy-party control.
Huge thanks to more than 100 volunteers for getting out this big Green vote and to everyone in Aigburth for choosing hope.
LAB has gone from being a juggernaut which couldn't quite overturn a Tory winning machine less than a decade ago to potentially an electoral wipeout like we haven't seen in our lifetime.
No, membership doesn't win elections, but it definitely helps.
Not only that, he's taken a party which has then won the majority under those generous circumstances and turned it into one which is going to get massacred in May, and as it stands you could argue is 4th in the polls, and it's not out of the question they'll land 5th at some point.
I do not understand this post at all.
Starmer took over LAB and *lost* votes compared to Corbyn, particularly 2017, if memory serves correctly.
If there's one thing the idiots voting REF were correct on it's that Starmer won a thumping majority on a wafer thin margin.
Hannah Spencer MP in her maiden speech in Parliament:
"Our struggles may be different, but our humanity is the same. We always stick together, we always fight for each other.
"And that is what I want us to take forward from International Women's Day and to do that every single day."
With the release of his Netflix documentary "Inside the Manosphere," the director talked to WIRED about why so many young men are drawn to toxic influencers. www.wired.com/story/louis-...
Brilliant, brilliant work π Well done.
It was like 60% of over 65s would vote either REF or CON from memory, vs a similar number for LAB/LD/GRE for under 65s.
In other words, this country would feel very different if we negated the over 65 vote....
Which is where some of the resentment comes from, however unfair.
Perhaps, although without going into granular detail, this poll suggests that any leader other than the party we support, we dislike. Otherwise the numbers wouldn't look like this?
Oh, and literally everyone dislikes Starmer nearly, even LAB supporters.
You're unfortunately being tarred with the same brush as those who benefited from stronger public services and then voted to leave the EU and successive Tory GOVTs.
However, just take one look at voting intention for now over 65s vs under.
They. Will. Not. Learn. Their. Lesson.
The fact they're all negative doesn't sit right with me, unless it's just indicative that each leader is maybe liked by the 20% ish who'd vote for them now and they ALL have more than 20% who 'don't approve'.
I fail to see how Davey or even Polanski could be negative. Why?
Goals per game?....
Agreed, particularly with France away next weekend.
Question is: what direction do England take next? It's strange because what started as a six nations with hope of a final week showdown in Paris is now a damage limitation exercise.
Is this really a time of transition for ENG?
Here's to hoping!
"We saw that change in Gorton and Denton β and that result unlocked a new level of confidence for potential Green voters that they can truly vote for what they want and get it."

I'm not sure 'everyone praises them for it' is true at all.
Also - you find me the numbers which prove that Citeh were as bad as this Arsenal side and I'll concede.
No, it won't happen any time soon, but rather than p****g around with god-awful VAR, we could've spent the last 10 seasons dealing with these issues to improve it for both match going fans and those watching on telly.
Massively agree on this Jonny.
The whole point of a "foul" is that it is cheating, hence the sanction. Like you said, if a player deems it "worth it", then the sanction should be made more severe until it's no longer deemed "worth it".

Is to tweak the laws to makes said gamesmanship significantly more difficult.
Can you see an issue with any of that?
Quite right, but maybe with the exception of the specific team utilising gamesmanship, it's in literally everybody elses interest to make the game as entertaining as possible.
One easy way to go about this....
My point is that I've always loved football, and it used to be my favourite by a mile, but this specific issue is making it no longer my favourite to watch, and I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat.
Therefore we should do something about it.
Because I still like football and we're on social media, where the general idea is to share thoughts and opinions?
No need to be a t*** about it....
+ Arsenal feel particularly bad for it purely based on the eye test.
I'm not sure many people are disputing the final point regards opponents, my argument would be it (delaying and time wasting) is making the game a much harder and/or more boring watch.
I'd sooner watch rugby/rugby league/nfl now than football tbh, this is a big driver of it.
If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.
See this for what it is. The media are now turning their guns on Zack, as they did with the LAB party, and they will relentlessly lie and attack him until enough damage is done.
The subject content is irrelevant. It's another baseless attack to undermine him and the GRE.
More often than not, they aren't really fouled or impeded. Why does it always seem to be the keeper of the team hanging on who drops to the floor?
It's a cancer in the game, and needs extracting.
