Tonight was my tenth time seeing Kiko & Cabral play since ‘23. Didn’t take long - those guys gig a lot.

Moving into the 70s, the 1972 debut from Quinteto Violado, formed in Recife in 1970 & still active today. They combine many Northeastern Brazilian folk traditions such as Forró & Baião with MPB. i’ve never seen this record outside 🇧🇷 ovelhanegrabr.bandcamp.com/album/quinte...

Wow, this (digital) reissue label has many albums that are otherwise difficult to hear outside of 🇧🇷!
To start, Moacir Santos's Coisas (1965) is an essential jazz record & an essential Brazilian record. He was signed to Blue Note on the strength of this debut, releasing 3 albums there from 1973-75.
