the average user isn't going to understand that they need to log in, they're going to click on a profile from google search, see a mishmash of random old posts, and think "huh, i guess this page isn't active anymore"

the worst thing about twitters logged out mode is how unintuitive and opaque it is. for a long time replies were hidden with no indication that you had to login to see them, and now the posts tab on profiles uses some unknown sort mode, once again with no indication that you need to login for latest

opened that new for you feed thats all the buzz and 2/10 of the top posts just read "i am a pervert."
