I am 100% with you on that. I find Legions such a quick rewarding system to paint models for, the regular dopamine hits have me wanting a whole horde of these things.

Had a lot of fun trying my hand at recreating some of that classic John Blanche style using the Masterclass sets from @thearmypainter.bsky.social - the one 'outside' paint I allowed myself was Plate Mail Metal for highlights. Not sure I quite hit Blanchitsu heights, but that was a great exercise!

Missed opportunity really
Couldn't fit all of the Knights in for this pic and there's more yet to be built, but the Black Baron of House Vyroni and his entourage of knights and Automata is taking shape 😀
Went to see The Beekeeper of Aleppo play last weekend. If it comes to a theatre near you, I highly recommend going. Thought provoking, funny, devastatingly sad, but an important insight into the plight of refugees. One of those things you can't stop thinking about afterwards.

These days I use a mix of paint brands. Currently got roughly 70 Citadel paints that are unopened, but have clearly gone to crap/rock solid. All the other brands of paint are fine. Including my 20+ year old Citadel paints in the old pots. Ugh.
By all the gods, change the pots, not the name. 🤣

More Automata done and more to do
Work in progress. Thanatar Siege Automata for Legions Imperialis. Once these 2 test minis are done, I’ve got another 6 to do and then have to fight the temptation to not buy lots more 😜
Last night I built 1 each of the Legions Imperialis Domitar and Arlatax. Nice result once built, but so very frustrating to build. Whoever though it was a good idea to make totally unnecessarily separate components that are about 3mm wide needs to be catapulted into a gas giant.
Little Castellax Automata done last night.
The kastelan was missing bits because there were a few parts of it I used in previous builds, like the front shin armour became bicep armour for my dorn tankhead, the knee pads became elbow pads for my northstar armiger, and quite a few kastelan pieces went into my akira bike
