I said it when I played Alpha Lab 1 and I'll say it again, 2XKO is the only modern fighting game I've played that feels like it was made by people who really love fighting games for people who love fighting games instead of people trying to water them down to chase a "new audience".

I'm constantly telling people they can't play games in "canonical order" or whatever like they can movies or TV shows because then you don't get to see the evolution of mechanics through entries properly and it always feels like a hard thing for people to grasp for some reason.

I'm not arguing against Sonicfox's talent. The guy hating is a loser. I'm arguing against the "but MK is actually extremely popular" point you're trying to make. Because thats objectively untrue in the context of this discussion. MK is consistently one of the least popular games in the scene.

Yes. It is famously unpopular within the competitive gaming scene. That's entirely correct. The guy in the post is being a crazy hater but the statement "game nobody plays" is factual.

Really good way to articulate this. Me and my friends have talked about feeling a lot of guilt for taking time away from being caught up on the news but more and more I think it's 1000% necessary to keep your brain from burning out.

I was mainly on the other site to keep up with the FGC and now that thats gone I don't really know what the point is of even having social media. I know I'm "main character FGC retirement posting" rn but I don't think I realized how much of my life it was and how much work it was gonna be to let go

I keep sad posting about the FGC alot and i still haven't really figured out how I wanna use this account so I'm kinda just screaming into the void. The amount of times an event that wasn't mine was running so i went and posted a few flyers around town and then noticeably more people showed up is crazy. It's really not that complicated.

One of my core breaking points with KYFGC that made me finally leave is how many times promoters will cry on social media about their attendance and then continue doing nothing to promote their events.

Hot take: your fighting game local does not NEED a stream.
In fact it is probably better to not have a stream if it keeps culture vultures and clout chasers away.

If somebody doesn't wanna come to your local cause it doesn't have a stream they don't love the game.
