Fun, it’s bloody marvellous. A delight for any one who has an interest in early nineties downtempo electronica. There’s a second volume that focuses on the early 90s Japanese scene too.

No. 256. Steve Hillage - Rainbow Dome Music (1979). Standout track - Garden Of Paradise. Mr Hillage delivers an ambient masterpiece here. Some may bemoan the running water effect on the opening, but I think it sets the tone.

Makes it more of a challenge to dig through you collection, reignite some old memories.

No. 249. Philip Glass - Solo Piano (1999). Standout track - Metamorphosis 5. Essentially Opening from Glassworks expanded and reinterpreted but still a beautiful composition. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Nice. I’ve not seen them live since ‘94. And I don’t remember much of that due to too much Lemonade and extra strong mints ;-)

No. 245. Michael Jackson - Off The Wall (1979). Standout track - Rock With You. Mr Quincy Jones laid the foundations here for the legend to be. Honestly I think ‘RWY’ wouldn’t have been out of place on Thriller, it’s that good.
