We just wrapped up our 2025 Christmas Party on Friday! It was a great way to close another busy year and reflect on the dedication and hard work shown across the firm.

Last night, our team attended the Leadership, Influence & Inclusivity Awards to celebrate Alice See, Keiu Kikas, and Sabrina Neves who were shortlisted for this year’s Rising Star Award.

It was a great opportunity to enjoy an evening celebrating emerging leaders in the legal profession.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our annual Christmas Quiz last week. It was lovely to see so many colleagues from local practices, Chambers, Local Authorities, Cafcass and the Judiciary come together for a fun evening in support of this year’s chosen charity, Comfort Cases UK.

We represented a client whose joint enterprise murder conviction has been referred to the Court of Appeal by the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC). This referral was secured following a new legal argument and psychiatric evidence.

Our Family Team in Birmingham donated to the Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) for their annual Christmas party. The FDAC hosts a party every year for the parents they work with, helping them create a more positive Christmas. We have supported many clients through the FDAC Court over the years.

Alex Pearson and Indiya Kainth visited Support Through Court, a charity that helps litigants in person, offering guidance on court processes and practical support throughout their case. They gained valuable exposure to Family matters here as volunteers which sparked their passion for Family Law.

We represented two children in complex adoption proceedings which concluded with the court determining that it was in the children’s best interests to be adopted, despite the progress made by their birth mother since the earlier Care and Placement orders were made.

Our Family team in Birmingham had a fantastic night at Legal Eagles Quiz Night yesterday! The event brought together over 120 legal professionals for an evening of trivia and fundraising.

Our Family team in Birmingham took part in Diwali with a wonderful celebration in the office.The team decorated the workspace, enjoyed delicious food and took the time to learn more about the 'festival of lights'.

We were instructed by a migrant, single mother in 2022 due to the unsuitability of her temporary accommodation. After years of our client persisting with her fight for suitable housing, she has finally moved into suitable council housing with her young daughter.
