This, paired with the brick tile wallpaper, was one of my favorite themes as a kid. It made me think of summer.

We only had 16 colors, but we could set them however we liked.

A 14" CRT monitor face down on a counter with housing removed, exposing bottom plate, pcb, and yoke. The bottom plate and pcb screwed to it are deformed.

Same 14" CRT now righted, straightened out, assembled, and on, showing MS-DOS Shell. It rests on a Tandy 2500 desktop computer, itself on a butcherblock counter.

I went on a little emotional journey tonight. A PS/1 monitor arrived, allegedly via a former IBM staff who had kept it. It was clearly dropped hard during transit. The bottom plate was deformed, controls bent in, housing cracked.

I got it straightened out, and so far, it's alive, controls and all!

I think it's working now? I can always embed the web version on the itch page, but I didn't like the way that made it feel like "a web game that can run in DOS". Maybe I'm just being stubborn.

Ok, I just realized I uploaded the photo where I am playing off the hard drive after testing INSTALL.BAT, floppy clearly ejected.

I regret this scandal.

I forgot to mention that this nice human is illustrating the manual to my silly DOS game.

This is the first time I've made DOS freeware in 20 years. The time was right, and what a ride. I made sure it can run on my Tandy 2500, a 386SX/20, off a floppy. You can play via browser too.

If you uninstall the notepad "app" you'll find the original exe hiding in the windows directory. That saved my work laptop from defenestration.
