An Alta California SD45 in the shops with an SSE SD45, both not that far in age.

@interurbanera.bsky.social was always an inspiration for my fictional Sacramento Southeastern. It turns out that both of our railroads share an interchange in Fresno, and I never realized it until a friend of mine showed me the Alta Map. So, have these 2 SD45s. The Alta unit is a work in progress.

More interesting motive power and RTR Light Rail/Interurban Vehicles need to be produced in model form for diecast/plastic. We need more gensets, could use a rerun of Walthers Sperry Cars, and I hope Bachmann and Rapido just started light rail revolution in HO.

My layout’s slowly turning into former interurban territory. I see a lot of my four axles stretching their wheels in the future.

Also those CCT GP18s Athearn’s offering look yummy for someone who’s so big on California short line railroads.

RPRX 5405, a former Conrail unit turned into an RP20BD at Hughson, near the elevator it works for.

Another RP20BD, this one made in production for Union Pacific out of a former MoPac B30-7A, currently rostered with the Northwestern Pacific.

I hope we can get proper diagrams for Railpower gensets like the RP20BD. I hate the fact that the only readily available genset models both in Brass and in diecast/plastic is the NRE 3GS21B. It sorta feels infuriating that almost 20 years later, we still don’t have diagrams for ANY Railpower genset.

Honestly, as much as I’m not a big fan of battery electric trains, I wanna see someone bring a hybrid on the table a la GG20B.
