Today we celebrated the incredible group of summer interns who went above and beyond during their time at our office! These interns did more than just discovery work. They made real contributions that helped break cases. We're proud of how they showed up with curiosity, professionalism and purpose.

Today, a Franklin County Grand Jury indicted Daveonte Dixon on several charges:

• 2 counts of Attempted Murder
• 6 counts of Felonious Assault
• 1 count of Tampering with Evidence
• 2 counts of Having a Weapon While Under Disability

Devon Blair, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of strangulation and two counts each of involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault. A judge sentenced him to 46 to 51 ½ years in prison, plus an additional two years in a previous case of domestic violence and assault.

'Horrific' murder of immigrant chasing American dream leads to life sentence for Ohio man Arthur Scott, 37, killed an immigrant woman chasing the American dream in an "unspeakable, horrific" way, a judge said. Now he'll spend life in prison.

Justice was delivered today as Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Kim Brown sentenced Arthur Scott to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the brutal and senseless murder of 61-year-old Li-Chu Lin.

Did you know fireworks are illegal in the city of Columbus and many central Ohio suburbs? Setting off fireworks can be very dangerous. Last year, 15,000 people went to the ER due to a fireworks-related injury. Skip setting off fireworks at home and attend a local Fourth of July show instead!

Today marks the 61st anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This landmark legislation outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, and continues to inspire our fight for civil rights today. #civilrights #justice #equality

Michael Crawford, the leader of a large drug trafficking organization, was convicted on two counts of Trafficking Cocaine and two counts of Possession of cocaine and has been sentenced to 11-16.5 years in prison.

Happy #Juneteenth! On this day in 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas finally found out that they were free. Juneteenth reminds us that delayed justice is not justice at all and the importance of equal rights for all.

We've all heard a neighbor or nearby restaurant blasting music and consistently violating noise ordinances. Who can step in to stop this? That would be our Civil Division! 👏 The Nuisance Abatement Unit is here to protect the safety and welfare of our community.

Tyrone Gray was found guilty of two counts of murder and one count of inducing panic and will spend at least the next 21 years in prison.

In 2022, Gray called police to say he had shot Dontarious Sylvester after Sylvester threw a purse at him inside a shoe store at the Mall at Tuttle Crossing.

One of the most important things you can do to prevent crime is to keep guns out of cars. Prosecutor Favor is joined by Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant and Chief Rick Minerd Jr. from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office to discuss why you should never leave a gun in the car.

Who makes sure that taxpayer dollars are being properly used? That would be our Civil Division! This team works to make sure public funds are being spent responsibly and more importantly, helps to recover misused or improperly spent funds.

Our office was proud to take part in the City Hall Illumination Event yesterday as part of Gun Violence Awareness Month. Prosecutor Favor spoke at the event and reinforced our office's commitment to reduce crime and gun violence.
